Ferrari 812 Superfast

The Ferrari 812 Superfast, the successor to the F12berlinetta is the latest car from the automobile legend Ferrari. Bearing the name of the Superfast title from the legendary 500 Superfast introduced in 1964, 812 set a new mile to the legend of Ferrari supercars. The 500 superfast was the first car to get a 400BHP 12 cylinder engine, which used to be the most powerful engine of the time. But the newer model isn’t losing to its predecessor in any department.

Ferrari has been known in the automotive industry for delivering the best cars, be it on racetrack or road. Owing to its racing history, Ferrari has succeeded in building a car that exceeds all limits that people has expected of a no aspirated production car. Ferrari Cars have always been a symbol of luxury, wealth and speed. Speed is the other name of Ferrari and this is because in F1 racing they are the most successful team with highest winnings.

Ferrari 812 Superfast is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine than the 6.3-litre in the F12berlinetta. It produces 800 PS or 789 BHP at 8,500 rpm and a 718 Nm of torque. The V12 engine in the 812 Superfast is one of the most powerful naturally aspirated production car engine ever made. The engine produces 59 BHP more power than in its successor F12berlinetta. Though there are no Turbos available in the 812 Superfast, the natural power of the engine is nothing less. With its superb performance, it just takes 2.8 seconds to reach the 0-60 mark.

In case of design and styling, the base design is from f12berlinaetta the model which it replaces, with updated styling like LED headlamps, air vents on the bonnet and quad circular tail lights. The two box high tail design resembles the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The interior is seen to have been inspired by both F12berlinetta as well as Ferrari LaFerrari, especially on the air vents and dashboard contours.

The 812 Superfast has a front mid-engine rear wheel Grand Tourer. This means the enormous power produced by the V12 engine is transmitted to the rear wheels which then move the car. This work is done by the automated manual dual-clutch 7 speed F1 gearbox. The bodywork is based on the spaceframe from the F12, meaning it is constructed wholly from aluminum. The enormous power and the lightweight chassis and body make it possible for it to reach a top speed of 210 mph. the power to weight ratio is 2.04 kg/HP.

Aside from the engine and power balance, Ferrari 812 Superfast is the first Ferrari with an Electronic Power Steering. Moreover, it carries the rear wheel steering system from the F12tdf and weight is distributed 47% front and 53% rear. This weight is carried by the 20-inch wheels both at the front and rear. In the front, you get Pirelli P Zeros 275/35 ZR 20 tires and for the rear, it’s Pirelli 315/35 ZR 20. Moreover, it has a great stopping power thanking the carbon-ceramic Brembo Extreme Design Disc brakes with a diameter of 398 millimeters in the front and 360 millimeters in the rear. The Peak Performance Advisor and Power Oversteering Support make the 812 Superfast a fun drive.
