Established in 1978, the TVS Motor Company is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. This Moto Company is founded by T.V. Sundaram Iyengar in 1978. Before entering into the two-wheeler market in 1911, the company starts its first bus service in Delhi, India. After that in 1962, TVS collaborate with Clayton Dewandre Holding, to manufacture bike brakes and other important parts of bikes. In 2006, the company finally introduce it first sportbike series – TV Apache. This sports bike has changes the two-wheeler vehicle industry.
The main reason behind the popularity of TVS Apache bikes is its all-round performance and high-end alluring features. From the last couple of years, the name TVS Apache has meant an expert those of excitement. Back in 2016, the TVS Apache RTR 200 really impressed the bike lovers and then last year the Apache just blew our way. Now, though it’s the turn of the TVS Apache RTR 160 don’t think that this is merely a cosmetic update or just a facelift because this Apache RTS 160 4v is a brand new motorcycle and having lots of changes then, its predecessor.
As the name suggests, this Apache RTR 160 4v has a 4 valve head like the Apache RTR 200 4v. IN fact, the whole engine is derived from the Apache 200 while stroke figures have been kept identical to those who have RTR 160 earlier. The compression ratio has been bumped up it is an air-cooled motor to assist in heat management in it. It is available in two variants carburetor and Fuel Injection as well. The torque figure of this sports bike single cylinder air-cooled motor is 16.8 PS and 14 points 8 Newton-meter respectively and the best power-to-weight in its class as well. The price of this bike is very affordable in price i.e. it suits every pocket.
According to the TVS Motor officials, the carburetor version of Apache 160 covers 0 to 60 km faster as compared to its fuel injector version. And that’s despite meeting a little less power when compared to the fuel injector variant. TVS claim that the bike goes zero to 60 km in just 4.73 seconds. Acceleration of TVS Apache RTR 160 is better than its previous model. The bike has an ability to reach up to 114-kilometers which are 4 km faster as compared to its processor.
One of the biggest highlights of this engine has to be its refinement. It is extremely smooth; there is almost no vibration even high up in the rev range. The fuel capacity of TVS Apache is 12 liters so; you don’t have to worry about fuel station during a long trip. This latest variant of TVS apache gives you mileage around 40 to 45 Kmpl. The look and feel of this bike are completely changed as compared to its previous model. The design of this bike is inspired by TVS own RTR 200 4v. Basically, it is derived from Draken concept of TVS.
