This car from Hyundai is also available in hybrid and plug-in hybrid and the electric version has the highest range of 174 miles better than all other leading electric cars. It is powered by a 28kWh lithium-ion electric motor that delivers a 120 bhp power and 218 lb/ft of torque. Ioniq has the top speed of 103 mph and can go from 0-62 mph in 9.9 seconds. In emergencies, you can also charge your car from the household socket. The Ioniq starts at the price of £24,495.

The new Nissan Leaf has taken the war for taking the top spot of the best budget electric car to the next level with its 235-mile range which is 80 miles more than its old version. It powers a 40 kWh battery that delivers the power output of 110 kW. It also features the e-pedal, ProPILOT, intelligent emergency braking with pedestrian detection, Intelligent lane intervention etc allowing you to enjoy relaxing ride. The new Nissan Leaf is priced at £27,000.

3. Tesla Model X

Model X SUV is the largest car of Tesla Motors and the only electric SUV in the market. Tesla is a well-renowned car manufacturer in the electric car market. The car is fully loaded with full safety features like Automatic emergency braking, side collision warning, lane departure warning, Autopilot driver assistance, 8 surround camera, ultrasonic sensors and more. Also, it has the longest range of the electric cars with 295 miles on a single charge from a 75 kWh or a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery.

It is an electric car manufactured by BMW under its sub-brand BMW i. With a lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum body, the i3 delivers on the BMW’s reputation. It is packed with a 170 hp motor from a 16 kWh battery delivering a range of 100 miles per charge. Buyers can even get some additional packages to increase the performance of the vehicle.

5. Volkswagen e-Golf
The e-Golf not only looks similar to the conventional Golf but also has the same advantages of good handling and ample safe in the hatchback. With an estimated range of 125 miles from a 35 kWh battery and 134 hp electric motor, the e-golf doesn’t lose the conventional Golf performance.
