1. Maybach Exelero
With a price of $8 million, Maybach Exelero is by far the most expensive car on the list. It is also the most exclusive car as only one car has been made till date and Fulda uses the car to test its new generation of wide tires. It features a 700hp, twin-turbo V12 engine which produces a 753 lb-ft torque at 2500 rpm.
2. Koenigsegg Trevita
The Koenigsegg Trevita is the second most expensive car in the world. Only three Trevita were made and sold at a price of $4.8 million. One may wonder for the reason of such high price. The Trevita has been coated with a diamond dust impregnated resin called Koenigsegg Proprietary Diamond Weave. Under the glittering hood lies a 4.8-liter, dual supercharged V8 engine with a total output of 1004 hp and 797 lb-ft torque. It reaches 0-62 in just 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 250 mph.
3. Lamborghini Veneno
With a price of $4.5 million, the Veneno is the third most expensive car in the world. Veneno in Spanish means poison. The Lamborghini Veneno was made from a modified Aventador roadster to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary. Like Trevita, only three cars were made- one red, white and green. It is fitted with a 6.5L V12 engine that revs up to 8400 rpm and delivers 740 hp power and 507 lb-ft torque. It can go from 0-60 in just 2.9 seconds.
4. W Motors Lykan Hypersports
The car that fled through 3 skyscrapers in Furious 7 is among the most expensive cars with a price tag of $3.4 million. The price is due to the jewel-encrusted headlights which buyers can choose from diamonds, sapphires, rubies, etc and gold stitching on the seats. Only three cars have been sold out of the seven created. The Lykan Hypersports is powered by the 3.7L twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine from RUF that produces 770 hp power and 708 lb-ft torque.
5. Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang
The most expensive car list won’t be fulfilling unless you mention the Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang at a price of $3 million. Only 5 of these cars were ever sold and those too only to exclusive European clients. The Pur Sang is made for both luxury and speed. It has an 8L 1001 hp 16-cylinder engine that makes the car race from 0-60 in just 2.5 seconds, which is the fastest time for a production sports car.
